The Services

EXPLORE OUR PRE-FILING MEDIATION AND UNCONTESTED SERVICES

Every family law matter involves the same core questions - money, property, and when applicable, children.

The difference is how you choose to resolve them.

Some parties need help working through those decisions. Others are already generally on the same page and simply want to move forward efficiently. This practice is designed to support both paths.

What We Offer

A DEEPER LOOK INTO THE SERVICES

Ending a marriage involves more than paperwork—it requires clear, workable decisions about finances, property, and, when applicable, children. When handled thoughtfully, this process can remain private, efficient, and focused on resolution.

Divorce (Dissolution of Marriage)

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We work through each aspect together, with guided discussions that keep the process productive and forward-moving. Once an understanding is reached, I prepare a written settlement agreement and, if requested, the documents needed for the parties to file on their own.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

Whether your terms are fully formed, loosely outlined, or simply discussed, I review and refine them, help identify anything that may have been overlooked, and draft all necessary documents so the final agreement is complete, enforceable, and ready for court.

Dividing assets and liabilities requires more than a general understanding—it requires precision. Clear documentation ensures that what is decided can actually be carried out.

Property & Debt Division

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We identify and work through assets and debts, exploring options for division that are both balanced and workable.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I translate your understanding into detailed legal terms, ensuring nothing is left undefined and that the final agreement can be carried out and enforced.

Alimony addresses financial support between spouses, whether temporary or ongoing, and requires careful consideration of both need and ability to pay.

Alimony (Spousal Support)

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We explore support in a practical, forward-looking way, focusing on clarity, sustainability, and mutual understanding.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I formalize your terms into clear, enforceable language and prepare the filings required for court approval.

Paternity establishes legal parentage and addresses related issues such as parental responsibility, time-sharing, and support.

Paternity

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We work through parenting and financial issues together, aiming for a complete and workable resolution.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I draft those terms into a clear, concise parenting plan and prepare the necessary documents to formalize parentage and incorporate your terms into a court order.

A parenting plan creates the framework for how children are raised across two households—covering schedules, decision-making, and communication.

Parenting Plans/Time-Sharing (Custody)

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We develop a plan that is both child-focused and practical for the whole family, addressing parental responsibility, schedules, extracurricular activities, holidays, and decision-making in a way designed to reduce future conflict.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I refine your plan, clarify any areas that may create issues later, and draft a detailed, court-compliant parenting plan ready for approval.

Child support ensures that a child’s financial needs are met in accordance with Florida guidelines, while allowing for thoughtful adjustments where appropriate.

Child Support

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We review income, expenses, and guideline considerations together, working toward an outcome both parties understand and accept.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I confirm the terms, prepare guideline calculations, and draft the necessary documents for court approval.

As circumstances change, prior court orders may need to be updated to reflect current realities.

Modification of Existing Orders

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We identify what has changed and work toward mutually acceptable revisions to existing orders.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I refine the updated terms, address any gaps, and prepare and submit the required filings for a revised court order.

Thoughtful planning can prevent future conflict. Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements allow couples to define financial expectations with clarity—before or during marriage.

Pre-Nuptial & Post-Nuptial Agreements

IF YOU NEED HELP REACHING AN AGREEMENT (mEDIATION):

We work through financial topics in a structured, neutral setting—addressing assets, debts, income, and potential support. Each party would then have independent counsel review the agreement prior to signing.

If you’ve already worked out the main terms (Uncontested):

I represent one party, and  meet with my client to review and refine the terms, identify gaps, and draft an agreement that complies with FL law. The other party has separate counsel. The agreement is finalized attorney-to-attorney.

For those who need focused assistance, limited-scope services are available to ensure documents are properly prepared and ready for court.

Post-Agreement/Document Preparation

This may include:

  • Reviewing and refining existing agreements
  • Drafting settlement agreements or parenting plans
  • Preparing pro se filing documents
  • Providing guidance on the filing process

What is the difference between mediation and uncontested services?

Mediation is for couples who need help working through decisions. I act as a neutral facilitator, helping both parties reach a mutually acceptable resolution. Any agreement reached is documented, and the final documents are then filed by you or an attorney outside of this practice.

Uncontested services are for those who are already generally in agreement and want to move forward efficiently. In that process, I assist in refining the terms, preparing all necessary documents, and guiding the matter through to a final judgment—often without either party needing to appear in court.

Do we need to have everything fully agreed upon before starting?

Not at all. Many couples come in with a general understanding or outline of what they want, but not all of the details.

Part of the process is identifying anything that may have been overlooked and ensuring the final agreement is complete, clear, and workable.

What is MY role in the process?

That depends on the path. In mediation, I work with both parties as a neutral facilitator.

In most uncontested matters, I meet with both parties to understand the terms and ensure nothing has been overlooked. I then represent one party for the limited purpose of drafting the agreement and obtaining the uncontested final judgment.

In certain matters—such as pre- or post-nuptial agreements—I represent one party, and the other party would have separate counsel.

Will we have to go to court?

In most uncontested matters, court involvement is minimal and often does not require a formal hearing.

The goal is to keep the process as efficient and private as possible.

How long does the process take?

The timeline depends on the complexity of the issues and how quickly decisions are made.

Some matters can be resolved in a matter of weeks; others take more time. The pace is largely guided by the parties.

What if we start mediation but don’t reach a final agreement?

Mediation is a voluntary process. If a full agreement is not reached, you still have the option to pursue other approaches, including working with attorneys or proceeding through the court system.

Is mediation confidential?

Yes.

Mediation is a private and confidential process, which allows for open discussion and problem-solving without the formality of court proceedings.

Can you help with just part of the process?

Yes.

Limited-scope services are available for those who need assistance with specific aspects, such as refining terms, drafting agreements, or preparing documents for filing.

Who do you work with?

I work with couples and families of all kinds, with a focus on a practical, respectful, resolution-oriented path forward — however you define your family.
